One or two days covers a vanity, and the doors below the sink need more attention than the rest because steam and splashes gather there. Doing them alongside a kitchen brings the price down sharply.

Vanity cabinet painting is almost always the same material as the kitchen it was built with. Golden oak in a Heart Lake kitchen means golden oak in the main bathroom, and white thermofoil on a Springdale island means white thermofoil on the ensuite vanity. The cabinet painting method follows the material either way.

The Smallest Job We Quote Is A Bathroom Vanity

Most vanities hold two doors and two or three drawer fronts, which is a handful of pieces and a single day of shop time. A double vanity in an ensuite might reach eight pieces. Either way the cabinet painting fits comfortably inside the week a kitchen is already taking.

That is why bundling matters so much on price. Put a vanity onto a kitchen quote and the price is a fraction of the same vanity booked as its own visit, because travel, setup, containment and the booth run are already paid for. Three bathrooms in a five-bedroom house add up quickly when each one is booked separately.

Moisture Is The Difference Between A Vanity And A Kitchen Cabinet

Bathrooms are humid in a way kitchens are not, and cabinet painting has to allow for it. A shower running twice a morning in a full house puts steam on every surface, and it settles lowest on the bottom rail of the sink-base doors and along the toe kick. Cabinet painting in that room has to account for it.

So the prep goes further at the bottom of the doors. Those edges are sanded, sealed properly at the end grain, and given the same primer as the faces rather than a quick pass. Where a bathroom has no fan or a weak one, we say so, because no cabinet painting outlasts a room that never dries out.

Swollen Particleboard Under The Sink Cannot Be Painted

The single most common problem we find on a vanity is a base that has taken a slow leak. The bottom of the cabinet is soft, the edges have thickened, and the melamine has parted company with the board beneath it. Paint does nothing for that, and covering it up only hides a problem that keeps growing.

Honestly, that means a new vanity base, with doors and drawer fronts either reused or replaced, which the cabinet refacing and door replacement page covers. We flag it at the visit rather than after the cabinet painting is underway.

Colour In A Bathroom Can Go Further Than In A Kitchen

Small surfaces in small rooms carry strong cabinet painting colours with far less risk. Navy, forest green, charcoal and the deeper warm greys all work on a vanity in a house where the kitchen is staying white, and a bathroom is where people are usually willing to try something.

The sample door process still applies, since bathroom lighting is often a single fixture that pushes colours cool or green. The cabinet colour consultation page describes it, and it is included with the cabinet painting quote at no charge.

Add The Bathrooms To The Kitchen Quote

Count the vanities in the house, note which ones have doors worth keeping, and send that through the form or call +1 (289) 201-6897. Every vanity carries its own price and can be struck from the quote. All of the cabinet painting we do across this area is on the home page.

Vanity cabinet painting is the cheapest room in the house to change, and cheaper still when the kitchen is being done alongside it.

Bathroom Vanity Painting Questions

How long does a bathroom vanity take?

One to two days covers most vanities. A typical one has two doors and two or three drawer fronts, and a double ensuite vanity might reach eight pieces. When a kitchen is booked too, the vanity doors go to the shop with the kitchen doors and ride along inside the same week.

Will steam damage a painted vanity?

Not when the prep goes far enough. The bottom rails of sink-base doors and the toe kick get sanded, sealed at the end grain and primed like the faces. A room with no fan, or a weak one, still shortens the life of any finish, and we say so at the visit.

Can a vanity with a swollen base be painted?

No. Particleboard that has taken a slow leak turns soft and thick, and paint only hides a problem that keeps growing. That vanity needs a new base, with doors and drawer fronts either reused or replaced. We flag it at the visit, before any cabinet painting starts.
